Philippines: Family of five murdered on Christmas day

Unidentified gunmen massacred a family of five on Christmas day, including three children,
in the southern Philippine province of Maguindanao.

Military officials say the gunmen barged inside the home of HILARIO ALCADRE, 38, in
the town of South Upi last night and began firing assault rifles.

Local army spokesman Captain ISMAEL MALINGCO says ALCADRE, his wife JUDITH, 34, and
their three children aged seven to 10 were killed.

MALINGCO says two relatives who were staying with the family were also wounded.

No motive has been established for the attack.
