CHURCH WANTS EX-SCHOOL FOR SENIOR HOUSING BAPTISTS NEGOTIATE TO CONVERT THE OLD ST. JOSEPH'S HIGH SCHOOL INTO LIVING SPACE.(CAPITAL REGION)

ALBANY An Arbor Hill Baptist church wants to convert the old St. Joseph's High School into senior citizen housing by planning to raise as much as $1 million to build 50 apartments.

The dilapidated ex-high school at Second and North Swan streets is currently used for a youth boxing program, winter basketball, food giveaways and a small teen games room. Mayor Jerry Jennings wants to relocate those activities to an abandoned two-story city firehouse on North Lark Street,spending $350,000 on renovations.
