Aust Stocks open flat on early trading =5 Melbourne

At 1105 AEST, the gold index had rised 15.2 points to 802.0, while the spot price of
gold in Sydney was $US5.05 higher at $US273.10.

The top traded stock based on volume was Admiralty Resources with 11.179 million shares
traded worth $484,513.

Admniralty was up point six of a cent to 4.4 cents.

National turnover had reached 160.38 million shares worth $449.48 million at 1110 AEST.

Rises outnumbered falls 426 to 382 with 299 stocks steady.

Overseas, the NZSE 40 was 2.3 points up at 2043.1 while in Japan the Nikkei rose 55.0
points to 11810.0.
